Musical Actor Appearance Fees Soar
As the musicals become more popularized, the price for hiring the actors is soaring towards the ceiling. In particular, musicals that utilizes idol singers or top stars as the lead actor to use as star marketing have increased in number and so is pulling up the “price.”
Group JYJ’s Xiah Junsu has shown off the “ticket power” by aking the role of the lead of the musical Mozart! last year. He contracted under the “running guaranty” method (which varies the appearance fee according to the total number of the audience) and has sold out all of the performances in which he appears.
Xiah Junsu is known as the actor who has received the highest appearance fee in history by receiving approximately 30,000,000 KRW (approximately 30,000 USD) per appearance. He appeared for a total of 15 times and so received 450,000,000 KRW
(approximately 450,000 USD).
