JYJ member and musical actor Kim Junsu revealed his thoughts on being nominated for the Best Male Actor Award.
On the 12th, Kim Junsu appeared at the Hongdae Nanta Theater to participate in the press conference of the 5th ‘The Musical Awards’ and seemed thrilled to be on the list of nominees for the Best Male Actor Award.
Kim Junsu couldn’t stop talking as he said, “I didn’t even know that I was a nominee. I was so surprised today when I heard that I was nominated for the award,” and “Even just being a nominee amazes me.”
Debuting in the musical industry through ‘Mozart!’ last year, Kim Junsu won the Best Male Newcomer Award and this year, he has placed himself on the nomination list for the Best Male Actor Award through his role in ‘Tears of Heaven’. Kim Junsu will be fighting for the coveted title alongside Ryu Jung Hwan of ‘Monte Christo’, Jung Sung Hwa of ‘Spamalot’, as well as Jo Seung Woo and Hong Gwang Ho of ‘Jekyll and Hyde’.
Regarding this, Kim Junsu could not hide his amazement as he said, “It’s an honor to be on that nomination list but when I saw that I was up there with the nation’s best musical actors, I couldn’t help but be amazed.“
Kim Junsu, who was also appointed the honorary ambassador for the 5th ‘The Musical Awards’, will unfortunately be unable to attend the awards ceremony. This is because he already has a charity concert schedule in Japan on the same date.
The winner of the award will be chosen through a judging procedure with 70% of the decision resting on 7 members of the awards ceremonies’ panel and 30% on 50 reporters in the field. The final announcement will be made at the awards ceremony, which will be held at the Sejong Culture Center on June 7th at 8pm.
