Posters of Jung Yunho’s Musical “Goong” Released;
Musical To Start On September 8



According to Korean media reports on June 11, posters of the Korean musical “Goong” have been released. TVXQ member Yunho will be starring in the musical which performance will commence on 8 September.

Carrying the same name of the television drama in which Yoon Eun Hye starred in, the musical version of “Goong” is based on a popular manga, which illustrates the love story between a prince and an ordinary girl under the setting of the “constitutional monarchy in Korea”.

In the musical version of “Goong” other than Jung Yunho, Kim Dong Ho, Ron, Kwak Seon Young and other artistes, including SNSD member Sooyoung’s elder sister, will be in the musical as well.

The posters for the musical version are faithful to the original style of the manga; the image of the female lead and the “Goong” word, which is in the middle of the poster, are both from the original manga.

The original manga of “Goong” and its television drama were a great success, but whether or not the musical version of “Goong”, which starts on the 8th of September, will be able to achieve similar success has become the subject of attention.

10: You have written lyrics that criticize society. And some people are critical of you using such lyrics for commercial music sung by idol groups.

Yoo Young-jin: There are many love songs that contain trendy words. So from the start, I was thinking that I want to try something a bit different. When TVXQ or H.O.T. sing such songs, people would enjoy their singing and dancing in the beginning but start hearing what they're actually saying after a few times, and I thought some may even become interested in what message the lyrics are delivering. I tried "O-正.反.合." because Mr. Lee Soo-man was telling me that he really hopes I use it one day when talking about changes in society. I thought that I could be able to provide somewhat of a different angle if someone looking at their performance starts taking interest in social issues he or she had not been interested in and decides to look it up on the Internet. I wasn't aiming at changing society through the songs -- I just wanted to say something through the lyrics. And I am aware of the likes and dislikes when it comes to such lyrics.

10: But I think you should control that level of shock since you make music to be sung by idol groups. What do you take into consideration when you give them songs?

Yoo: It depends on the team. With Super Junior, I think they're a team which is better to go for their mass appeal by mixing in a bit of wit into their performances. I wanted create a song which is both equally fun and easy to listen to which is when I came up with "Sorry Sorry." f(x) is just a year into their debut but the first time I heard "Nu ABO," I thought it was very shocking and advanced. So while commercial success is important, I thought people would be shocked if we took on a new and erratic attempt. The company thought the same way about it too.

10: What about the five-member boy bands like H.O.T., TVXQ and SHINee?

Yoo: H.O.T. was a very young group back then so I wanted to write about their normal lives. They had little experience in life but were full of energy, and while there was so much they want to do, there actually wasn't much they really could do so they would be dissatisfied. So I wanted to express them in the state of having an aggressive attitude. And I thought that at one point, I wanted H.O.T. to seem colossal. They were the first idol group to hold a concert at the Jamsil Main Statium and I wanted them to look big for when they do something like that. For their song "I Yah!" I thought of a man in a black trenchcoat, like in "The Matrix," walking alone in the desert and I wrote it thinking that they would get to show it on a big stage.

10: I think HOT and TVXQ must be similar when it comes to the fact that they both stood on big stages and gave strong performances.

Yoo: TVXQ is really good when it comes to singing and dancing so I wanted to have them try a variety of things. I felt that they would be able to pull off big performances in particular, like H.O.T. did. And "Rising Sun" was where that all came together -- it's a song through which my hopes came true. It was the first time during my ten years of composing dance numbers that everything, from the choreography to the vocals to the dancing skills, interlocked perfectly. After that, I gave them "Tonight," wondering whether they would be able to pull that off too because it has to be sung on a very wide range of notes. But they were really good at that too. (laugh) I got excited so I came up with some ad libs spontaneously which they also pulled off too. That's when I told myself that I can try whatever I want with this kids (laugh) so I started coming up with songs which would maximize the abilities each member has. With SHINee, I thought it would be better to add in some easy parts rather than make their songs too difficult or aggressive. I also did it because I studied writing melodies with limited chords while I was pursuing my solo career, and it turns out it fits better with recent trends.

10: What's your goal as a musician?

Yoo: Up till now, I've rejected requests for interviews or short filmings of me teaching TVXQ. And I plan on not doing any more after this one. I prefer to continue doing my work in my own corner. If a singer is the main character, I want the focus to be on them, not on me for being their producer. I want to be a helper to SM and all of its singers. A helper who always does everything that he's been given to do. I think I'd be very happy if I could sit down in a studio even when I'm eighty and still be creating rhythms.

JYJ Thanksgiving Live at Tokyo Dome Day 2

Part 1:

So I am back... Don't really know where should I start from.

Let's begin with the most heartbroken part... Weeping

At that time, I didn't cry, because I wanted to remember every single
thing, watching all of it... Jotting them down, telling everyone.

During the MC part in the middle (of the performances), when speaking
out his mind, Junsu looked like he was going to cry, but after saying
'first day we cried... then second day also... However, because it is
today, because it is right here, therefore we are not going to cry. We
wanted to spend our time together with everyone with our smile till
the very end.'
At this moment, (we can see)Junsu in the big screen was trying hard to
hold back his tears. Micky seems calm though. Jejung... hmm... still
looking fine at this point, still smiling.

They didn't cry, that's what I was thinking. I can go back and tell
everyone that tonight they didn't cry!

Yet... (They were) still crying in the end... at the very last
moment... when they thanked everyone...
To raise up the hand for the final time, bowing to everyone... (He)
cried... raised his head... covered his mouth with his hand, while
saying sorry he ran to backstage.
That cry... was vigorously... because all of us can hear it clearly...
it was loud... rushing to the backstage... the cameraman followed...
thanks to the cameraman... (all of us)saw it... Junsu who was
following at the back, was crying out loud too, but was not as intense
as Jejung... Micky didn't cry. We saw it clearly, he was the last one
who ran back to backstage.

Part 2:
Ok, let's start from the opening... Micky didn't cry till the end...
However at the opening... there was tears rolling down his cheeks, but
he didn't cry... only tearing...

Performance had started, very... hmm... I couldn't recall how does the
opening looks like right now, three of them, in white, singing the
songs that I was not familiar with. I wasn't sure what's my feelings
at that moment, able to meet them finally, that was great... so I
smiled. But deep inside my heart, and I didn't know why... tears kept
rolling down, unstoppable...

I am going to write down what I remembered first. The sequence... I
really can't put them in line now.

Since there were sentimental songs at the beginning, my heart was aching.
At last when reaching Micky's turn to sing 'Love is so beautiful'
everyone becomes energetic again.
Everyone was singing and jumping, whoa...

By the way, in this last performance, three of them had added a lot of
new things...
However I... once again... saw the reflection of 4th Live Tour...

Part 3:
Actually, during this last performance, the more reflection I could sense from it... the more loneliness I was experiencing.

During the MC part... during the performance...

Oh yea
Junsu's solo... I couldn't even recall the title of the song right now...
The last shot...... was Yunho's solo move...
Which was insanely the same...

Now let's start to talk about the happy moments
That's because (we are) really happy~ everyone was happy

Except the later heartbreaking part...... Micky's solo

Part 4:
Everyone knows about Micky's solo right...
He said that recently he wants to have girlfriend...

I think I can remember this vividly for the rest of my life.
My terrible miserable mourning... even the lady sat beside me had to pat my head and said... That's alright... Don't be too sad....

But... That was the moment when I shed my tears the most during the entire performance -- (Omg...)Everyone can despise me for that~~~~~~~~~~

(I am) going to tell everyone in detail about this heartbreaking moment.
