[NEWS] 111004 KBS President "JYJ May Request For Reexamination For Banned Song [Pierrot]"
In regards to the group JYJ's song [Pierrot], which was banned by KBS citing the reason that it specifically attacks a particular person, KBS President said, "They may submit a request for a reexamination anytime."
On the afternoon of the 4th, during a paliamentary inspection of the Committee for Culture, Sports, Tourism & Broadcasting Communication, Jun Byung Hun (Democratic Party), a member of the National Assembly, questioned KBS President Kim In Kyu and asked, "JYJ's [Pierrot] is banned because the lyrics 'PSM' is targeted at a specific person. What is the standard of consideration?"
President Kim said, "According to the deliberation committee, the lyrics 'PSM' in JYJ's [Pierrot] are problematic as it points to a specific person" and "Although JYJ's side has said that 'PSM' stands for 'Professional Success Music', it doesn't match when the lyrics are looked in their entirety."
He also added, "JYJ may submit a request for a reexamination any time."
To this, Congressman Jun asked in return, "Is KBS the spokesperson for Mr Lee Soo Man?" and "Why do you refuse to believe the person who wrote the song? Why do you have to interpret 'PSM' as refering to Mr Lee Soo Man?" President Kim said in replied, "The members of the deliberation committee judged that it is likened to that given name" and "I will request that the deliberation committee be more open to flexible interpretations."
The other day, on 28 September, KBS announced the results for the review of JYJ's album through their website and judged that the songs [Pierrot] and [Mission] were banned as they contained "lyrics that were personal attacks".
KBS had explained that the song [Pierrot] resulted in being banned because it suggested "personal attacks to an individual" and that it showed a personal grudge towards a particular individual as the lyrics "'P.S.M' obviously represents 'President, Lee Soo Man'".

[TRANS] 111005 Choi KangHee, "JiSung will be a good husband, JaeJoong is a born star".
Choi KangHee expressed her thought on 'Protect the Boss', "JiSung will be a good husband, while JaeJoong is a born star, and he has a star factor on him". On 29th Oct, SBS 'Protect the Boss' had successfully ended, Choi KangHee together with the rest of the cast end it with a round of applause.
Recently on a news interview, Choi KangHee commented about her lover in the drama, "Heard that JiSung's IQ is 147, he really seems smart." She said, "Great having to work with JiSung. He imitated many advertisement lines, making one laugh during filming, which had also integrated into the drama". She even mentioned, "JiSung is like an adult, as well as child. Because of his attentiveness, he will be a good husband."
As for the new actor, JYJ's Kim JaeJoong, she said, "Though is a newbie in acting, but seems like he is born with it. Is like an instinct, he became a star, not without reasons." She also said, "JaeJoong is very kind at heart, enjoy acting together with him".
Choi KangHee also expressed her thought on senior Park YoungKyu, "Really charming". She said, "Though Park YoungKyu sunbae is much older than us, but we do not have a gap in between, he is really charming and warm". [TRANS] 111005 JYJ Oct 15 & 16 Concert, from Hayato's Blog
T/N: The Japanese fans are worried about the concert, since the organizer ZAK doesn’t give out detailed information about the starting time, the promised bus tours (the concert will be held in a national park approx 100km from central Tokyo, with only poor public transportation), and such, though there are only 10 days left until the concert.
(This is a rare situation in the usually well organized Japanese society.)
Therefore, the fans are relying on Hayato-san for necessary information.
Oct 5, 2011
Time of Performance
I've heard that the performance will begin on 16:00 and end on 18:00.
Please fully enjoy their songs and also their attractive talks.
Everyone,
It seems that they had some difficulties in coordinating the time with the park side, but please do enjoy their performance for a full two hours.
I’ve heard that there will be an announcement for you to get out of the park starting from 18:00, after the performance finishes.
T/N: This was added since ZAK has announced that the performance will begin at 16:00 yesterday. And also, ZAK had been announcing for weeks that all should get out of the park by 18:00, and getting out of the park may take an hour or two. According to the two info combined, it will mean that almost no time will be left for their real performance.

[TRANS] 110929 JYJ Say, “A Personal Attack On Lee Soo Man? That’s Just KBS’ Interpretation”
With JYJ’s ‘Pierrot’ deemed unsuitable and banned during KBS’ review of the group’s new album, JYJ’s representatives have stated, “This is unjust,” and are planning to submit a summons and request a retrial for the song.
KBS recently deemed ‘Pierrot’ unsuitable for broadcasting purposes and banned the song. The reason they gave was ‘Personal attack on an individual’. KBS has claimed that the word “P.S.M” in the song means ‘President Lee Soo Man’ and is therefore a personal attack on a specific individual.
Regarding this, JYJ’s side has stated, “This is unjust,” and has been taking immediate action. A representative of JYJ stated, “This is an arbitrary interpretation by KBS. They didn’t even ask us during their review if it was meant to be a personal attack on a specific individual,” and emphasized, “The lyrics were never written to target anyone.“
The representative continued to say, “In the case of SBS, they asked us ‘What does this word mean? Is it a swear word?’ during their review of the album,” and “All they needed to do was ask for a clarification if the meaning of a word is unclear, but they deemed their own interpretation as the truth and laid down such a verdict on the song, and we find is to be unjust.”
JYJ plan to submit a summons that explains the lyrics and the song’s theme and will then request a retrial for the song.
JYJ’s side explained, “Jaejoong, who wrote the lyrics, explained that, ‘Overall, the lyrics criticize society as a whole.’ Thy were never written target anyone.”
They also stated, “Recently, we have seen many new words that aren’t in a dictionary or don’t have a specific meaning come up in the lyrics of other songs and we believe that ‘P.S.M.’ is used in the sense of describing, ‘A director or master who controls others’.”

[TRANS] 110928 JYJ’s ‘Penzal Q Song’ Is Released, “Don’t Be Sick” Is Tugging At The Heartstrings Of Women
With JYJ being chosen as the CF models for the painkiller Penzal Q, their CM song has been released. On the 28th, the ‘Penzal Q Song’ was released through CKD’s Penzal Q Facebook page (www.facebook.com/penzalQ) and has since been tugging at the heartstrings of women with its high level of musicality.
When one looks at the sheet music for the song that was released, what leaves the biggest impression are the lyrics that capture the heart of a boyfriend worrying about the person he loves as they read, “Lean on me when things get rough, hold my hand, don’t be sick, I’ll be there for you, even for you aching heart and sorrowed tears.”
Netizens who saw this showed a high anticipation for the song as they left comments such as, “My headache is disappearing”, “I can’t get sick anymore”, “I can hear JYJ’s voices, just from looking at the lyrics“, and “I want to see the CF soon.”
A representative of Penzal Q stated, “The CF song was newly created to fit JYJ and they worked with Music Director Kwon Gyu Jin and Zeenan, who’s renowned for his work with K-Pop and OSTs.”
The melodious ‘Penzal Q song’ by JYJ can be heard in the commercial that will begin airing on the 1st of October.

[TRANS] 110928 Ending ‘Protect The Boss’, Kim Jaejoong Says, “It’s Sad To Have To Let Mu Won Go”
With only one episode of SBS’ Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Protect the Boss’ left, Kim Jaejoong expressed his feelings about leaving the show.
Kim Jaejoong said, “At first, I started acting with a feeling of dread, but now that the end of the drama is approaching, it’s sad to have to let Mu Won go,” and “I want to sincerely thank our writer, our director and all of my acting seniors such as Ji Sung hyung and Kang Hee noona for helping me and teaching me what great on-screen chemistry is from the start.”
Kim Jaejoong also stated, “Mu Won is a character with a personal charm that I discovered more of the more I played him so he always gave me new strength,” and regarding the couple nicknames he was given, such as ‘SeolWon Couple’ with Eun Seol (Choi Kang Hee) and ‘NaMu Couple’ with Na Yoon (Wang Ji Hae), he laughed and said, “I was really happy to receive such nicknames. I even thought of the possibility that the drama might really end with the ‘ChaCha Couple’, much like the ending that was posted online not long ago.”
To the fans who visited on location to support him and to the netizens who left many words of support on the drama’s homepage and on Twitter, Kim Jaejoong showed his gratitude as he said, “It gave me great strength to find that many people watched the drama from the beginning till the very end,” and “I hope to meet such great people again in the future.

[NEWS]111005 JYJ discusses “In Heaven”, the meaning of ‘PSM’ & dreaming of Yunho & Changmin
On September 30th, the members of JYJ met up with reporters for their “In Heaven” press conference at a cafe in Jungdong, Seoul. In a heartfelt interview, the men answered questions regarding TVXQ, their recent controversy with ‘PSM‘, and their hopes for the future.
Jaejoong began,
“First of all, this album is one that contains all of our memories and feelings over the course of the past two years. It’s an album that has a lot of scents in it. There are tracks that convey our honest feelings, as well as tracks that beat around the bush in expressing ourselves. No matter how much we beat around the bush, though, those that have been with us through it all will know what to imagine while listening to these songs while the regular public will just listen to the song for what it is. It’s an album with a passcode. Like I stated, it’s an album that contains everything we’ve felt and done over the past two years.”
Junsu continued, “I worked on the album by conversing a lot with the other members. It’s an album that shows the true colors of JYJ. I believe that we were able to create such a great result because we regarded as the production of it as a positive opportunity and experience.”
Jaejoong added, “The reason we started our individual activities was to get the name of JYJ out there. Since the three of us cannot go out on music programs, we had no option but to get JYJ’s name known individually.”
Junsu stated,
“We began our careers as singers and I hope that we’ll continue to eternally walk down the path of a singer. Because we’re restricted in so many areas as singers, we decided to take the performance route. Even if it’s hard to see us on TV, we’re trying to work with our fans by performing at events and fan meetings, as well as other small events. Our focus is on creating an environment where we can communicate with our fans and enjoy the performance aspect of it together. A concert is not just a place where we show what we want to show, but a place where we can converse with them.”
When asked what ‘PSM’ meant in their song “Pierrot“, Jaejoong stated,
“It’s weird that a song that’s not even our title track is worthy of being in the media headlines for not passing regulations, but it’s actually quite heartbreaking. SBS actually asked us what ‘PSM’ meant, meaning that they’ll give us a chance even if it wasn’t okay to pass. KBS, however, didn’t even give us that chance and just interpreted it however they wanted to, completely ignoring the creator’s intent. That is so frustrating.”
He continued,
“PSM stands for ‘Performer’, ‘Success’, and ‘Museum’. Everyone has a future and everyone hopes that their life can shine. In order to accomplish that, however, they must borrow the strength of others since it’s not possible on your own. They’re then physically taken advantage of by a museum that creates that success for you and at times you’ll find yourself acting something that you don’t want to do. It’s a song about people that use innocent people that are only innocently searching for hope.”
Jaejoong stated, “A lot of time has passed. The time we’ve spent apart might have created misunderstandings, but as for us, a lot of that has passed. I just hope for us to all meet again. Yunho and Changmin appear in my dreams often. Once, all three of us dreamt of them at once.”
He continued, “I still don’t keep in contact with Yunho and Changmin.
Please let us contact them.”
Jaejoong also revealed that he might have the opportunity to see Yunho. “The lighting director for Yunho’s drama, ‘Poseidon‘, is also the lighting director for ‘Protect the Boss‘. He once told me to come and visit during an after party. I might be able to see him then.”

[NEWS] 111004 JYJ's First Korean Album: 8 Songs Out Of 10 Are Self-Composed
The group JYJ has recorded their Korean songs into an album [In Heaven] and released it. JYJ is an idol group formed together by the ex-members of TVXQ - Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu. Although they released their worldwide album [The Beginning] last year, in which they sang English songs, this is their first Korean album. As JYJ is in the midst of a contract dispute with their previous management SM Entertainment, records distribution companies have shown their disapproval in the release of their album.
The explosive popularity garnered by their Korean album has put an end to their troubles. Just the initial orders alone reached 300,000 copies and JYJ's album was launched in record stores with its own cash registers. During a press conference held on the 30th of the previous month, JYJ said, "While preparing the album, we came to understand how important it was that our fans are able to listen to our songs."
Out of the 10 songs in this album, 8 of the songs are self-composed by the members. They were directly involved even in the operational stages.
"Although we are still inexperienced in perfecting it, because we personally worked together to create this album, there's a lot of attachment to it." (Yoochun)
"We don't simply want to record all our self-composed songs. Our goal is to continue to release good songs." (Junsu)
The genres and sounds are also plentiful. The title track [In Heaven] and the song [Fallen Leaves] are heartrending ballads but the album is also overflowing with tracks filled with dance rhythms like [Mission] and [I.D.S], which are worthy of an idol group.

JYJ will start touring Europe at the end of this month. They will hold the first ever solo concerts by Korean singers in Spain, Barcelona (29 Oct) and Germany, Berlin (6 Nov). They said, "It would be great if our European fans could sing our songs together with us."
