Hereon we are still TVXQ’s YunHo & ChangMin
Spring special! No matter what, TVXQ’s YunHo & ChangMin have finally returned to Japan again! From the guys’ lives currently till what’s on their minds, the questions are only fully answered in POPTEEN!
(ChangMin) “We are both people who are exact opposites in our voices and in our characters, yet when we come together, there is such a harmony. To describe our characters, if YunHo is fire, I would be ice. YunHo is always able to catch up on and understand my thinking.”
To find out how the both of them have been doing recently!
The long-awaited interview!
We are really curious about how they feel about living together, and their honest thoughts and feelings…so pay attention to the explosive talk to both of their close-up style interview today!
“It feels really good to live together! It feels like family.”
So then, why don’t we first start with you telling us about your activities in 2010.
(YunHo) For me personally, I was involved in the MJ Memorial Concert and Musical held in Korea, after that I was also part of the filming of the NET television drama (HARU).
(ChangMin) I’ve been filming a television drama from January till May, and after that I’ve been constantly involved in photo shoots for magazines.
(YunHo) Other than that, the both of us have also participated in the SMTOWN Concerts as TVXQ in Korea, China, as well as America.
From 2011 onwards, the both of you will officially begin activities in Japan, and even in your personal lives, the both of you are living together.
(ChangMin) Yes. The both of us will occasionally go for bowling sessions.
But won’t the both of you be recognized by people?
(YunHo) That’s why we always ask our managers along, but even so, we still get recognized (laughs). However, even though we get recognized, it is only to say hi or to greet us, so I’m not really bothered.
(ChangMin) I mind. I’ll not know what to do when I’m slowly surrounded by people whom I’m not familiar with. That’s why we play separately. Even though we are still easily recognized like that.
Do you guys quarrel? Since you are constantly together all the time.
(ChangMin) If we say otherwise it would be like telling a lie (laughs), but because we have the straightforward and honest relationship with one another, so it becomes a very natural thing to not argue anymore.
(YunHo) It seems like recently, because we are both breathing the same air, it seems like we understand each other more. When one of us is in a bad mood, just by looking and without saying a single word, the other person would want to go over and find out what’s wrong. It’s because we exist like a family, so even if we don’t say much, we can understand each other.
What do you like about each other?
(ChangMin) I feel that YunHo is very passionate and responsible towards word, and he’s really highly professional so that’s something I want to learn from him.
(YunHo) ChangMin is very calm and mature towards work. Even if he gets misunderstood he would not get angry, but he would patiently listen to the other party, consider it properly before expressing his own thoughts and opinions. He’s very nice to the staff and everyone around him, and he understands them very well.
(ChangMin) It’s not so, even though I’m grateful that you put it that way (bright smile).
Then, lets talk about what you want to see changed in each other.
(YunHo) ChangMin has matured more recently, becoming more like an adult, and to me, there’s really nothing about him that needs to be changed.
(ChangMin) There’s also nothing that I want YunHo to change in. Even though it frustrated me before that YunHo always messes up the house (laughs). But now we no longer use the same apartment so even if it’s messy I don’t mind.
(YunHo) The previous apartment was really quite messy (laughs). But recently I’ve learnt to tidy up and keep my own room neat and clean.
In between breaks while working, what are the common topics that the both of you will talk about?
(YunHo) There’s a lot, about our future and such.
(ChangMin) We’ll also talk about each other’s frustrations.
(YunHo) Normally the both of us like to joke around, but when we confide in each other, that’s the only time when we will be very serious with each other.
Don’t you talk about girls?
(YunHo) Of course we do. The both of us would lament about when we will get married…at times when we look out at the streets, we will say things like “that girl is really cute”.
Just to mention also, both of your favourite Japanese female artiste is Yukie Nakama. Is the type of girl whom you would go for like her?
(ChangMin) We first met Yukie Nakama at Kōhaku Uta Gassen and we already liked her then. She was much prettier in real life.
(YunHo) Not really, that kind of expression is incorrect. Everyone, please don’t misunderstand. We’ve always thought that she was pretty, but when we saw her personally we felt that she was much prettier, that is what ChangMin is trying to say.
(ChangMin) Yes, that was what I meant. That is what I meant by YunHo could catch up on and understand my thoughts (laughs).
Then, can we ask what are your hopes for 2011?
(YunHo) Because 2010 was a turning point, in 2011, we would like to step up and work harder to display both of our charisma. In order to fulfill this the both of us have been spending a lot of hard work in our preparations, so we hope that everyone will fully support us.
Overall, as a duo, what are your charms?
(ChangMin) Both of us are very tall.
(YunHo) We are really quite tall…(laughs), our voices are also more charming, I guess. ChangMin’s voice is higher-pitched, while mine is lower-pitched, yet when we come together, we produce a beautiful harmony. Also, our characters are exact opposites but when we are together it’s completely a harmonious relationship.
(ChangMin) In terms of our characters, if YunHo was fire, I would be ice.
(YunHo) But that changes with circumstances too. When ChangMin is fired up, I would become calm, and we would change roles naturally.
(ChangMin) Even though it may seem like we are two people individually, we are more harmonious in reality. Such a combination would probably bring about a lot of new sides to our charms.
We see, then how about leaving a message for all our POPTEEN readers.
(ChangMin) In the new year, we will work hard to show everyone the real side of us, so please support us.
(YunHo) I will work hard and grow; you must spend 2011 with TVXQ~
CHANGMIN’S INTERVIEW!
“The type of girl I like is someone who is optimistic, cheerful and bubbly.”
What kind of fashion do you like?
I like the feeling of wearing a beautiful coat along with a shirt.
Why do you like that kind of fashion?
It’s not like these all the time, I also like to wear sports wear, since I’ve been learning boxing this period of time.
Why do you have such nice muscles?
Because I drink a lot of water after perspiring, maybe.
Why is it always “ladies first” when it comes to Korean men?
To me, it was something that my father had taught me all along. Since I was young, I was taught to be gentle towards girls, so subconsciously it became something natural.
You look like someone who prefers vegetables, but you prefer meat in actual fact?
I’m a junk food type (laughs). But it goes according to my mood that day, and it’s different in different situations.
Type of girl you like?
Bubbly, cheerful and optimistic.
What’s the difference between Japanese and Korean girls?
When I first came to Japan, I felt that Japanese girls are cuter while Korean girls are prettier. Now I’ve realized that no matter which side I’m at there are people who gives off all sorts of different feels.。
What kind of clothes do you want a girl to wear?
Something more elegant, I would like it too even if it’s very normal, as long as it’s suitable and is able to bring out the charm within the person wearing it.
If you were having a date in Korea, where would you want to go?
I would want to go to a crowded street and hold hands, and have a meal just like normal people. Even though it’s a bit traditional and boring, it’s still something I yearn for since I haven’t been able to do it.
How about if you were in Japan?
I would like to ride on the tram, just the both of us.
What kind of songs do you listen to normally?
R&B, Rock, Ballads…I listen to all sorts of songs, locally and internationally. If it’s specifically within Japan, I like Superfly.
The Japanese word you like most?
Please. It’s very simple, and you can use it in a lot of situations; it’s a very convenient word.
Please recommend a very famous Korean food.
Pig skin. It contains a lot of proteins which is very good for the skin, and it’s delicious to eat when it’s a bit burnt and crisp.
Your favourite Japanese food?
I like them all. Even the bentos from the convenient store. Every time I’m in Japan I would eat to my fill.
What are your dreams since young?
To be a broadcaster or a sports journalist. I think it would be great to be a broadcaster so that I can appear on television, and as a sports journalist, I would get to watch the numerous sports competitions up close so that is a plus point (laughs).
