- After spending a painful year, both Yunho and Changmin decided to stage their comeback under the name of TVXQ with their new single “Why (Keep Your Head Down)”.
Yunho: While this year was a painful year for us, it also encouraged us to go on. Looking back now, and looking at us now, we were always considering how to move on... moreover, during the period of absence from the stage, it has made us realize once again how ‘(being able) to perform on stage’ was such a happy thing. During the time when our schedule as TVXQ was temporarily put on hold, each time we watched our juniors’ performances, we would think, “We want to get back on stage as soon as possible too.”
- Both expressed simultaneously that right now, they wished to see the fans as soon as possible.
Yunho: Last year, when the two of us returned to the stage during SMTOWN after a long period of absence, the audience cried. Those tears pricked deeply into our hearts. Because of this, we want to get back on stage quickly and to bring smiles to everyone.
- Yunho starred in the drama 'Heading to the Ground' and the musical 'Goong'. Changmin is also playing the lead role in 'Paradise Ranch’. During this one year period, they have been active in the area of acting, and the experiences they went through have helped the both of them to go on.
Changmin: Due to our individual schedules, we were able to understand one another more objectively. For example, Yunho practices his acting, works out and trains his body, practices his choreography... his attitude towards his work is truly worth emulating. Until now, I still look up to him as a brother. Seeing his attitude and the effort he puts in even when he’s away from the group has caused me to have a new found respect for him.
Yunho: I have also gone to the filming location of Changmin's drama. I was surprised that despite being the youngest on the set, Changmin treated everything seriously!! That was not the Changmin I had known previously. Recently, when I talk about my frustrations, Changmin would give good advice, and I feel that Changmin has grown up already.
We are fire and water. How we express our emotions and how our personalities are like are completely opposites.
- The charm of the two men who have gained experience through their individual activities has come forth explosively in “Why (Keep Your Head Down)”. With strong vocals, an energetic performance, tangled with the feelings of frustration, and still moving forward... this powerful track was truly appropriate for TVXQ to kick-off their comeback with.
Changmin: I'm the tenor, Yunho is the bass, so we're lacking mid-ranged vocals. Thus, when we started, to be honest, we were unsettled, but the end product has quite well done.
- The wonderful “chemistry” created through each other’s respective “charisma” has been included in the cover.
Yunho: Other than our vocals, there are many other areas which we are exact opposites in. For example, I like to go out with my friends to places and have a fun time but Changmin likes to enjoy his time at home. So, our rooms are also decorated differently. Changmin's room has a lot of games and is fully-equipped with audio equipments... totally filled. Even though we live together, I don’t see him much at home. That is also a place which makes me feel lonely.
Changmin: Now we have our own room; previously, we used to share a room. We have lived together for 7 years now, so it’s nice not to see each other once in a while (laughs). If we have to share a room again, I won't be willing (answers decisively). With Yunho around, the place would be in a mess immediately.
Yunho: Actually, at that time, while I was making a mess, Changmin would be clearing up after me. This is yet another area in which we are different (laughs).
- Their stand towards dating is also different.
Changmin: Yunho is very direct in expressing his feelings, very manly... but he can be a little bit sloppy (laughs).
Yunho: Correct!! I often forget things. And there are times when I would be doing nothing, but things would overturn suddenly, or books would fall off the table, sometimes thing would even get broken...
Changmin: While he usually looks perfect, he's in fact really sloppy. But he is able to attract those with maternal instincts precisely because of these. Women would automatically think, 'I need to arrange everything properly'. He’s really cunning (laughs).
Yunho: Changmin is very detailed and would consider the other party carefully. I act according to how I feel, but Changmin will pay attention to the atmosphere. He's really good in creating a romantic atmosphere. He will definitely be gentle towards the woman he loves.
Changmin: I don't remember people's birthdays, but I will remember the birthday of the woman I love. I can't even remember my own mobile number, yet I will specially remember the mobile number of the person I love.
Yunho: How amazing. This, would definitely be popular!!
- Yunho's blood type is the serious and detailed type A, while Changmin is the outspoken type B. But, in regards to expressing one’s feelings, Yunho expresses, “It's as if I'm type B, and Changmin is type A.”
Yunho: On the contrary, I like to have fun with friends. Going for a bowling session together and even traveling together. At such times, I would think, “If Changmin was here... I would invite him, but he would not come out.”
Changmin: When Yunho is around, it’s definitely lively. I don't like going to crowded places.
Yunho: The previous time also, I called him and said, “I'm at the café. Then he said, ‘Then I would go as well.’ I was really looking forward to it, but in the end he called and said, ‘I think I won’t be going today…’ I was really disappointed. I also want to take this opportunity to say, “Come spend more time and play with me!!”
Changmin: Well... I will think about it (laughs).
Different charms, creating an extensive range of performances.
- Cool Changmin and cute Yunho. Such differences has attracted both of their charms together.
Changmin: Even though we are direct opposites in numerous areas, our hearts are linked together tightly. Our trust towards others, how we list our priorities…towards important moral values, the both of us are on the same wavelength.
Yunho: It may be because of this that Changmin and I are able to understand one another even without having to communicate verbally. We don't need to interact, and we can still figure out what the other person is thinking about.
- After becoming a duo, has the presence of the other person become more important? Both of them replied, “Of course.”
Changmin: From today onwards the two of us would be evolving TVXQ. Even when we are not around, our music will continue to exist. We want to leave behind high-quality entertainment for the majority to remember.
- Using fire and water to express each other. “We are only able to create an extensive range of performances due to our differences”, they smiled. Please anticipate from here on, what kind of chemistry the two of them will lead us to.
