Monopolize no. 1 & 2 spots for most copies sold of a single during a first week for a foreign artist
Popular Korean group Tohoshinki started their activities again with two members Yunho (24) and Changmin (22). Their first single since then, "Why? (Keep Your Head Down)" (released on 1/26), sold a total amount of 231,000 copies, grabbing the no. 1 spot on the Oricon weekly chart. This new release ranks 2nd in the amount of their first week sales, just below the single "BREAK OUT!" which they released with five members before ceasing their activities in January of last year and sold 256,000 copies during its first week.
This single is their first release in 10 months since their single "Toki wo Tomete" (initial first week sale of 195,000 copies) in March of last year which was from their best album "BEST SELECTION 2010". In April of last year, the quintet group made an announcement on their cease of activities and came back this January with 2 members. However, their popularity did not seem to cease, as this release outsold their previous single 36,000 copies.
Since the birth of Oricon Chart in January 1986, they have become the only artist to have sold more than 200,000 copies of a single during the first week, with the first one being "BREAK OUT!", and the second one is this release. Moreover, they are the owner of the title "Foreign Artist Who Have the Most No. 1 Singles" in the history with a total of 9 singles that ranked in first place. This is also their 3rd consecutive no. 1 single.
