JYJ‘s Kim Jaejoong made an explosive appearance in the March issue of ELLE Korea — starting with this much buzzed about pictorial! Orders for the magazine shot through the roof, and Elle Korea scheduled a reprint days after the issue first went on sale.
In the pictorial, Jaejoong lives out the day in the life of “Solo Killer J” — a seemingly perfect assassin who falls into depression when alone. It wasn’t just a normal photoshoot; stay tuned for a 60-minute film titled Perfect Day revolving around Jaejoong as “Solo Killer J.” On March 18th at 11 PM (KST), the film will air through ELLE at TV to supplement the 12-page pictorial. On set, Jaejoong worked his charm immediately and lightened the atmosphere by announcing, “Everyone here is not an auntie but instead, you’re all older sisters.”
“The studio’s atmosphere seemed like it was becoming a flashmob because of Jaejoong. He seemed like he would be demure but instead, he had a surprising sense of humor and almost all the NG scenes were mixed with sexual jokes.”

Staff commented that Jaejoong has returned with a more mature feel that translates incredibly well into the character of the lonely killer. It was to the point where they almost could believe it was his real personality. It’s not surprising since Jaejoong has both a self-declared cold image and a warm presence in real life.
“When he first started promoting overseas, he had a lack of confidence. He confesses about the language barrier and difficulty even waving his hands to fans in the airport. He would even try to hide behind other members. But once he performed on stage, and always stayed in the center like his name’s meaning (Jaejoong’s name, 在中, means “in the middle”), he was able to unlock the door of communication with fans.
When he was younger, he acted rashly because he wanted to show everyone his cool and strong image but he’s now realized it’s best to be free. Actually he’s pretty cheerful and laughs a lot.”
