Male idol group JYJ (Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu) became public ambassadors for World-Okta (World Federation of Overseas Korean Trades Association).
JYJ attended the World-Okta 30th anniversary event that was held at Seoul's Sheraton Walkerhill Hotel, in Vistal Hall on the 18th of April. They were appointed as public ambassadors and performed a congratulatory live.
In this event, the guests' list included President Lee Myungbak, Minister of Knowledge Economy Choi Kyunghwan and 1000 other regional ministers. Concurrently, on the same event, awards were presented to those that had made significant contributions to the Korean society and its economy.
The spokesperson of World-Okta revealed, "Having a global influence and the leaders of hallyu, the image of JYJ matches the image of World-Okta and its role in propelling Korean economy to the world stage. Thus, they were given the role public ambassadors."
On the day of the event, JYJ stated, "[We] want to let the world know about Korea, and we are very honoured by the role of public ambassador as it allows us to contribute to the Korean and the global economy. JYJ and World-Okta will show the world our country's cultural advantages and work hard to spread to all over the globe."
