Park Yoochun doesn’t fail to live up to our expectations of him as a famous Hallyu star in Japan. The new MBC Monday-Tuesday miniseries ‘Ripley’ will be exported to Japan. It is being sold in advance to the neighboring country for the sole reason that Park Yoochun plays a leading role in it and it’s the second drama to be exported for this reason following last year’s KBS drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’.
The production crew of ‘Ripley’ recently announced on the 11th that the drama’s broadcast rights in Japan have already been sold. ‘Ripley’ is a drama surrounding the story of a woman whose destruction is laid down by her inability to stop lying. It has already become a hot topic amongst viewers for it was revealed that the catalyst for the creation of the drama was Shin Jung Ah’s fake diploma scandal. Park Yoochun appears as a man who falls in love with the woman (Lee Da Hae), tangled in her own web of lies.
The Japanese broadcast rights for ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, which was Park Yoochun’s debut drama, were known to have been sold at a jaw-dropping price (estimated to be around 3 billion Won) even before it began airing in Korea. Taking into consideration that ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ was a 20-episode drama, the broadcast rights for the 16 episodes of ‘Ripley’ are expected to have been sold at around 2.5 billion Won.
‘Ripley’ will begin airing on the 30th.
