(Jaejoong) The reason why it took so long for me to write the lyrics for "nine" was because..I was wondering if it would be better to use poetic expressions.. or other ways of expression.. And because it was the first song we were to present to you at the concert, I wanted to express "Talking right in front of your eyes" so it turned out like this,,

(Jaejoong) "pierrot" was originally a R&B song with a piano instrumental.. But we were working hard to add another dance piece, so a new song was born with a completely different color. (8:59pm KST)

(Jaejoong) And "My scenario" is a song created as a spin off of "pierrot". These two songs were originally one song~ (9:06pm KST)

(Jaejoong) The title was "I Deal scenario" so we made it "I.D.S"..

I wanted to arrange the song thinking of our "Beginning" so I used the basic chords that I learned when Yoochun first began teaching me how to play the piano, and I created the melody so that it would remind people of music from 10 years ago.. Yoochun didn't even know that and said "Hyung..It has kind of an old feeling to it?haha".. (Sorry Yoochun haha) (9:22pm KST)

This issue's featured star is JYJ who released their first album this month. JYJ is formed from the first letter of each of the member's names, and despite it not being as elegant as TVXQ, it still shows the determination of Kim JaeJoong, Park YooChun and Kim JunSu to create a new beginning. TVXQ was a part of their life, where they gained maturity and figured out their future goals. The trio, who are now excelling in different aspects of their careers, will definitely not give up easily on their group, JYJ.

Tremendous Promotional Activites

JYJ's dispute with SM Entertainment has been going on for a long time but has yet to be settled, and it is hard for TVXQ to stay as five, but the artistes’ activities cannot stop because of this. In the first half of 2010, JYJ's activities were mostly focused in Japan, with JunSu releasing a solo single and JaeJoong acting in a Japanese drama. In June, JYJ also held their concerts in Tokyo and Osaka Dome. In the second half of the year, JYJ followed up with activities as singers. On October 12th, JYJ’s World Showcase in Seoul was held which generated a massive response, of which 30 million won was donated to a charity fund for children. They expressed that they have always been concerned about doing charity for children and after hearing the children’s plight, they decided to donate their concert profits out, and will continue to help more children in the future. On October 23rd, JYJ performed at the 2010 Shanghai East Asia Flying Up Concert, which was a concert for charity, and showed a charitable act.

JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul which will be held on November 27th and 28th is their first massive concert in Korea after the new unit was formed, to which there was an overwhelming fans’ response whereby tickets were sold out really fast. Although the concert is a little costly as compared to others, tens of thousands of tickets were still snapped up within a few minutes. Other than that, JYJ is also planning to hold their concert in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai and America.

An Album That Represents A Brand New Start

On October 14th, JYJ embarked in their new journey in the music world, which is exactly what their album title, , meant. This album, which is distributed worldwide had a renowned producer specially invited and a fortune was spent on promoting the album. Three title songs, 《Ayyy Girl》、《Be My Girl》、and《Empty》 are unique in their own ways and also perfectly showcases JYJ’s style. The American Billboard official site even published an article on JYJ to promote this album.

The American famous hip hop musician, Rodney Jerkins also participated in the production of "The Beginning" and had expressed interest to continue the collaboration with JYJ in the future. He said that he was very impressed with JYJ's professionalism and attitude. Rodney Jerkins is a great producer known all over the world and used to be the producer for Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Beyonce and many other famous artists. This time, he composed《Empty》 and《Be My Girl》 for JYJ which were very well-liked after its release.

Other than Rodney Jerkins, American hip hop singer Kanye West also contributed to the production of this album, composing the songs 《Ayyy Girl》 and 《Be The One》. Before the official production, he was already amazed by the trio's acapella, freestyle rapping and singing. With JYJ being able to get compliments from the winner of 14 Grammy awards, we can already see the growth of JYJ throughout the years. It was Kim JaeJoong who first began his acting career. The movie "Heaven's Postman" starring Kim JaeJoong and Han Hyo Joo has received tremendous popularity in Japan as well as in Korea.

He also participated in the Japanese Fuji TV drama series "Hard To Say I Love You (Sunao ni Narenakute, 素直になれなくて)" together with other renowned actors in Japan, for which he had gotten the title of the "Best Supporting Male Artist" as nominated by Nikkan Sports. At the same time, he was also casted in Ayumi Hamasaki's music video for her new single "Blossom". With a series of activities in Japan, he has gained a large amount of support from Japanese females.

According to a Japan television programme early this year, Kim JaeJoong was voted as "The Most Wanted Lover", with YooChun and JunSu in the top 10 of the list.

The broadcast of the drama series "SungKyunKwan Scandal" is very well-liked by the viewers because of its dynamic style and classic charms. Park YooChun showed his potential in acting by taking on the lead role in his first acting endeavor. In order to better his role as a scholar, he took the time to learn the "Analects of Confucius" in the midst of shooting. This posed as a difficult challenge to YooChun as he grew up in America. He said, "It is an additional gain to learn how to be a real adult while learning all of these". A surprise visit from Kim JaeJoong on the shooting site of "SungKyunKwan Scandal" also showed the strong friendship between the two.

Before the release of "The Beginning" album, JYJ also participated in the recording of the songs in the OST for the drama "SungKyunKwan Scandal", displaying the strong bond between the trio. This also tested the market's response to the return of the trio. It is evident that fans have anticipated the return of JYJ for a very long time as the OST sold a total of 80,000 copies within 2 weeks and after which, an additional 20,000 copies was sold. This is an extraordinary achievement for soundtracks of TV drama series. The track "Found" in the OST has a special meaning to it as it is the very first song released by the trio as JYJ.

While JaeJoong and YooChun are having a busy schedule, JunSu did not give up on his passion for music. Because of him, the tickets for the 16th Korea Musical DaeSang Award Ceremony, held on the October 18th, was sold out within 3 hours. The most surprising thing was that the current image of Kim JunSu is entirely different from his past images. Reporters often say that SME's artists are very difficult to approach to as they are always surrounded by their managers and the security. However, after leaving SM, JunSu's friendly and approachable attitude seen after the award ceremony when he was in the same resting room as many other musical actors, was very commendable. At the ceremony, JunSu received the Newcomers Award and the Popularity Award.

As of today, Kim JunSu has acted in 2 musicals including "Mozart!", and has also held a musical concert, managing his musical career impressively. He said that to be able to act in a musical is like another dream. In order to be able to fulfill it, he thinks he should work harder in the future. (Toji)
