JYJ Successfully Presents Splendid
Stages At Seoul Olympic Stadium
JYJ members Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, and Kim Junsu held concerts at the Seoul Jamsil Olympic Stadium on the 27th and 28th of November as a commemoration stage for the release of their worldwide album ‘The Beginning’. A total of 35 000 fans attended over these two days. (I think it was 35,000 for the first day)
Under the direction of world-famous stage producer Jeri Slaughter, the help of chief organizer and choreographer, Jelly, who once organized concerts for Whitney Houston and Kylie Minogue, and the accompaniment of a team of back-up dancers who once stood on the stage with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, the JYJ concert was without a doubt a visual and audio feast for all the audience members. Junsu said, “there were a lot of ideas and meticulous details, so I’ve learned a lot from it.”
After returning back to Korea from their US tour showcases, JYJ spent ten hours everyday to practice over their songs and dances for the concert. Yoochun said, “because it’s the first time with the three of us on stage in Korea, we want to show everyone a great performance.” Junsu said, “although the members have started doing individual activities, we will work our hardest to prepare for this, so please look forward to it.”
The concerts used the country’s biggest canopy-roof, as JYJ was concerned with the temperature of the stadium. Jaejoong also explained how they were thinking of using it as a backdrop for the laser show and videos. But on the afternoon of the concert, it started to hail, so for security reasons, it had to be taken down. Because of this, the original starting time of the concert had to be pushed back from 7PM to 8PM. JYJ quickly apologized to their fans, saying that although there was a small emergency, they still wished to create beautiful memories with everyone.
At the beginning of the concert, JYJ expressed their condolences for the fallen soldiers at Yeonpyeong Island. Throughout the concert, JYJ heated the atmosphere with superb energy and lively dancing. They performed a series of songs from their album, along with several unreleased songs, sending the audience into a crazed frenzy. What surprised the fans even more was the appearance of fellow actors of Yoochun from 'SungKyunKwan Scandal' on the big screen, Yu Ah In and Song Joong Ki, who had come along to support JYJ.
The highlight of the concert was undoubtedly when the “Be My Girl Remix” version came on. A couple of days ago, Junsu reached out to the fans through his Twitter, showing them a video of the dance JYJ wanted the fans to do with them at the concert. Once the music began, JYJ and thousands of fans moved together as one, creating a spectacular sight to behold. Lastly, JYJ sorrowfully waved their fans goodbye with the songs “Be The One” and “Empty Remix”.
