SBS’ Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Protect the Boss’ has hit the 20% mark in viewer ratings thanks to a double kiss scene between the lead roles and has continued its steady upwards climb.
On the episode of ‘Protect the Boss’ that aired on the 17th, a kiss scene between Ji Sung and Choi Kang Hee, and another between Kim Jaejoong and Wang Ji Hae was shown on a split screen. Thanks to the scene, the drama has hit viewer ratings of 20.5%(nationwide 17.8%) in just five episodes, protecting its spot as the most watched Wednesday-Thursday drama.
According to TNmS, the drama recorded 19.2% viewer ratings in Seoul (nationwide 15.7%). Comparing the drama to its preceding productions ’49 Days’, and ‘City Hunter’, as well as MBC’s ‘The Greatest Love’, ‘Protect the Boss’ has been the fastest to reach 20%.
Also, it set the record of being the only drama out of all the Monday-Tuesday and Wednesday-Thursday dramas that are currently airing to have reached 20% viewer ratings.
Viewers left comments on the drama’s homepage that read, “I screamed because the kiss scene between Kim Jaejoong and Wang Ji Hae was completely unexpected”, “The production company and screenwriter are the kings of messing with our minds”, “The double kiss scene by the two couples, this is revolutionary for romantic comedies. I’m excited to see what will surprise us next.”
