JYJ(Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu) have been appointed as honorary ambassadors for the Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO).
On the 5th, JYJ attended the ‘KEPCO 50th Anniversary Commemoration Concert’ that was held at the KEPCO building in Samsung-dong, Seoul and sang ‘In Heaven’ and ‘Empty’ live as their celebratory performance.
A representative of KEPCO explained why JYJ were chosen as he stated, “JYJ’s youthful, energetic and global image fits perfectly with what KEPCO, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, is aiming for and that is why we appointed them as our honorary ambassadors,” and added, “KEPCO will act as though it has become JYJ’s fourth member and will work hard to expand its and JYJ’s influence throughout the world.”
As representative Hallyu singers, JYJ will be actively involved in promoting the youthful and evolving image that KEPCO strive for in order to help spread Korean electric power as a new Hallyu Wave.
Kim Jaejoong said, “I heard that KEPCO takes an active approach in philanthropy. I was moved when I heard that KEPCO paid for fifty overseas and domestic people’s eyesight recovery surgery to commemorate the corporation’s 50th anniversary.” Park Yoochun stated, “JYJ will work with KEPCO to promote Korea in the global electric power industry,” while Kim Junsu said, “We will emulate the passion of KEPCO’s workers and work hard to become global singers.”
Kim Jaejoong will be appearing in SBS’ new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Protect the Boss’ from August 3rd, while Park Yoochun is currently acting in MBC’s Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Miss Ripley’. Kim Junsu has wrapped up his encore performances for ‘Mozart!’ and is currently taking a break.
